Former Texas A&M outfielder hits first spring HR for White Sox

· Yahoo Sports

Former Texas A&M star Braden Montgomery continues to make noise in Chicago White Sox camp, and on Sunday he reached another important milestone in his push toward the big leagues.

With the game tied in the top of the second inning against the Chicago Cubs, the switch‑hitting outfielder stepped in with a 1–1 count and launched a no‑doubt shot over the left‑field wall for his first Cactus League home run. It was the latest example of the loud contact he’s been producing since arriving in camp.

Montgomery has been one of the White Sox’s most consistent performers this spring. He’s appeared in all seven games and carries an impressive .400/.400/.867 slash line, backed by six hits, two triples, a home run, and two RBI. The early production has earned him multiple starts and put him firmly on the radar as a player pushing for an eventual call‑up.

A top‑three prospect in the White Sox organization, Montgomery has looked every bit the part. His combination of power, athleticism, and improved swing decisions has translated quickly at the major‑league level of competition, strengthening the case that his debut may come sooner rather than later.
