North Carolina Courage acquires Uno Shiragaki via transfer from Cerezo Osaka Yanmar Ladies

Mak Lind and Dr. Ceri Bowley have made another move ahead of the 2026 NWSL season opener.

Today, the North Carolina Courage announced that they have acquired Japanese Women’s National Team defender Uno Shiragaki via permanent transfer from WE League (Japan) club Cerezo Osaka Yanmar Ladies and signed her to a three-year contract the 2028 NWSL season. Pending the receipt of her P-1 Visa and ITC, Shiragaki will join the team once that is completed.

The rising defender just earned her debut with Nadeshiko Japan in February 2025 against Canada and has made two caps in total. At the 2025 U-20 World Cup, alongside NC Courage’s Manaka Matsukubo and Shinomi Koyama, they would go on to a silver medal.

At Cerezo Osaka, Uno made 37 appearances across three seasons.
