The Tennessee Titans will not be tendering cornerback Darrell Baker Jr. This is a surprising decision, considering Baker has played pretty well for them over the last couple of seasons and how thin they are at cornerback. Baker is a restricted free agent, so they could have offered him basically a one-year contract that would have required other teams to offer the Titans compensation if they chose to match the offer. Instead, Baker will now become an unrestricted free agent.

In summary, they get more cap relief if he is healthy when they waive him. (They are in a similar situation with Calvin Rildey).
