Cincinnati to part ways with head coach Wes Miller after 5 seasons
· Yahoo Sports
On Wednesday, the Cincinnati Bearcats fell to the UCF Knights in the Big 12 tournament, ending any possibility of appearing in the NCAA Tournament. Just two days later, head coach Wes Miller has been fired, per On3's Pete Nakos. Miller spent five seasons at the helm for the Bearcats.
Cincinnati finished with an 18-15 overall record and went 9-9 in the Big 12 during the 2025-26 season. That came after a 19-16 campaign last season, both coming without much NCAA Tournament hope, leading to Miller's firing. The Bearcats never made the tournament in Miller's tenure, as he compiled a 100-74 record — a solid mark, but in the end, not quite good enough.

Prior to his time at Cincinnati, Miller was the long-time head coach at UNC Greensboro, spending a decade with the program. During that period, the Spartans claimed four regular-season conference titles and made the NCAA Tournament in 2018 and 2021.

Coming off a run of sustained success at UNC Greensboro, Miller was a hot candidate for power conferences as a mid-major head coach. He lasted five seasons with the Bearcats.
Miller is among several power conference head coaches that have been fired thus far, including Georgia Tech's Damon Stoudamire, Boston College's Earl Grant and Kansas State's Jerome Tang.
