Browns bring one of their tight ends back for 2026

When the Cleveland Browns signed TE Jack Stoll in the early parts of free agency, it seemed like they were moving on from TE Blake Whiteheart, who has been a reserve for the past couple of years. On Monday, though, the Browns announced that they have re-signed Whiteheart.

Whiteheart was a restricted free agent heading into the new league year, but it was pretty obvious that the team was not going to tender him. As an unrestricted free agent now, he comes back to Cleveland, likely on a minimum-salary deal.

Whiteheart played in all 17 games for the Browns last year and made 4 starts, having just 2 catches for 4 yards all season. Back in 2024, Whiteheart had 6 catches for 51 yards and 1 touchdown, including this most memorable grab:

The Browns’ tight end group now consists of Sal Cannella, Harold Fannin Jr, Caden Prieskorn, Jack Stoll, Brenden Bates, and Whiteheart.
