Stephen A. Smith teases another Jason Whitlock diss after 2024 viral rant
· Yahoo Sports
Jason Whitlock had a lot to say recently about sports media’s Stephen A. Smith, but the ESPN star isn’t going quietly as their public feud strengthens.
The two veteran personalities have been well known for their hot takes over the years. However, it’s clear that Smith’s stardom at ESPN has caused a major rift between he and Whitlock.

That spilled over into a 10-minute conversation between Whitlock and former NFL star Cam Newton. Despite Whitlock calling out Smith for his failed college basketball career, the ESPN First Take co-host is preparing to launch another attack towards his sports media foe.

Whitlock recently chatted with Newton about the origin of his hatred towards Smith, including stating that he’s “fraudulent.”
“He’s lying about his college basketball career,” Whitlock told Newton. “He’s admitted he’s lying about his college basketball career … It’s all a lie and I’ve done the homework.”
Smith is now preparing to take on Whitlock in another viral rant. Back in 2024, the ESPN standout unleashed a 40-minute long tirade by smack-talking Whitlock’s career.

“I literally called my pastor and asked for his forgiveness and understanding in advance, because he’s not going to recognize the person he’s about to hear,” Smith said during his 2024 bashing of Whitlock. “I did the same when I emailed the bosses at ESPN.”

Meanwhile, Whitlock has also taken offense to Smith being categorized as the “face of sports journalism.” The 59 year old had several brief stints at ESPN before taking on larger roles at Fox Sports.
Smith teased a potential rant about Whitlock during Monday’s episode of First Take. However, he could save his remarks for his radio or YouTube programs given how long his previous takes have been.
