The General Manager of NFR including a team of other senior officials of the zone, visited the school on 20th March, 2026 to inspect the newly installed furniture and Smart Boards, expressing satisfaction over the up-gradations made.
Earlier, on 20th February 2026, the General Manager inaugurated the fully renovated school, which included construction of new classrooms, development of a new playground, renovation of the entry gate and prayer hall, upgrading of toilets, installation of granite on staircases, strengthening of the boundary wall, renovation of doors and windows and construction of a new corridor. These comprehensive improvements reflect NFR’s commitment towards providing a safer, cleaner and more student-friendly educational environment for the holistic development of students.
The Railway Higher Secondary School, Maligaon has also been brought under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum from the earlier SEBA Board, w.e.f 2024, marking a significant step towards enhancing academic standards and exposure of the students. This transition is expected to enable students to compete more effectively at the national level. Notably, despite being a Railway run institution, the school caters to both railways and non-railway students, providing quality education at a nominal cost including from BPL category. At present, a total of approximately 07 percent of railway students and 93 percent of non-railway students are enrolled in the school, reflecting its inclusive approach and growing appeal among the wider community.
