JEE Main 2026: With the commencement of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 2 scheduled to begin on April 2, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a vast array of guidelines to ensure the smooth and proper conduct of the examination process. It is expected that more than 11 lakh students are likely to take the examination at 566 examination centers located in India and abroad.

The agency has emphasised strict adherence to exam-day protocols, along with enhanced security measures, including AI-based monitoring and biometric verification, to prevent any malpractice.
Heightened Security and Exam Arrangements
Given the scale and importance of the examination, NTA has put in place multiple layers of security. Candidates will undergo frisking at entry points, and centres will be monitored through CCTV surveillance and AI-based analytics. Jammers will also be installed to block electronic communication.
Candidates are advised to reach their exam centres well in advance, as late entry beyond the gate closing time will not be permitted under any circumstances.
What to Carry on Exam Day
Printed copy of JEE Main 2026 admit card (preferably in colour)
At least two passport-size photographs (same as uploaded in application form)
Original valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, etc.)
PwD/PwBD certificate (if applicable)
Required certificate for candidates with Aadhaar discrepancies (if applicable)
Items Not Allowed Inside the Exam Hall
Mobile phones, earphones, microphones, pagers
Calculators, smartwatches, or any electronic gadgets
Bags, handbags, wallets, or purses
Books, notes, or any printed/written material
Geometry boxes (except for B.Arch candidates), stationery items
Food items (except for diabetic candidates under permitted conditions)
Any metallic objects
Dress Code Guidelines
Wear simple, light clothing with no heavy accessories
Avoid clothes with large buttons, brooches, or metallic items
Slippers or sandals are preferred; avoid shoes with thick soles
Candidates wearing religious attire should report early for proper checking
Sikh candidates are allowed to carry religious items like Kara and Kirpan
Important Instructions for Candidates
Reach the exam centre at least one hour before reporting time
Complete biometric verification and registration at the centre
Sit only at the allotted seat and system
Ensure the question paper displayed matches your selected subject and medium
Follow all instructions given by invigilators carefully
Do not engage in any unfair practices; strict action will be taken

The NTA has also made special arrangements for particular situations, such as rescheduling an examination for candidates affected by international situations, religious holidays, or conflicts with board examinations.
