Broncos' Goal In 2026 NFL Draft Is To Address A Key Position Of Need On The Offense

The Denver Broncos saw their draft assets in 2026 take a giant hit, but it came in the blockbuster trade with the Miami Dolphins that saw star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle come to the Mile High City.

The Broncos traded away their first and third-round picks this year, so they have one pick in the second round and then the next one in the fourth round.
That surely changes the draft strategy for Denver, but the roster is pretty much set for a team fresh off an AFC No. 1 seed and a loss in the AFC title game.
NFL.com's Nick Shook revealed each team's biggest goal going into the NFL Draft, and Shook said the big one for Denver is finding another running back.
Yes, J.K. Dobbins re-signed, and seventh-round rookie RJ Harvey exceeded expectations. However, Dobbins is injury-prone, and the RB room is somewhat thin for a team that has Super Bowl aspirations.
"I love the Broncos' roster, which doesn't include many visible holes, yet I'm a bit concerned with their running back situation," Shook wrote. "But the position remains their biggest need in my opinion. I'd love it if they snagged a player like Jadarian Price in the second round."
Jadarian Price is a solid player, and the former Notre Dame star was the backup to Jeremiyah Love, so he has flown a bit under the radar.
Price has been viewed as a potential first-round draft pick, so there is a chance he isn't there when the Broncos pick at No. 62.

Some more realistic options are Arkansas' Mike Washington Jr. and Penn State's Nicholas Singleton.
Washington's Jonah Coleman and Kentucky's Seth McGowan are some sleepers who might fall into the fourth round, which is when the Broncos might feel more comfortable selecting a RB than in the second round.
For some perspective, ESPN's Matt Miller has Price going to the Minnesota Vikings at No. 49 overall, and he has Washington going to the Seattle Seahawks at the end of the second round.
Some options in the fourth and fifth-round range, based on Miller's mock draft, are Singleton, Demond Claiborne from Wake Forest, J'Mari Taylor from Virginia and Adam Randall from Clemson, so there will be plenty of RB options for Denver going into Day 3 if Price and Washington are gone.
At the end of the day, running back is an area the Broncos should address, even with Dobbins back for another season, and taking a flier on one RB this time is worth a shot.
