Steelers trio of draft prospects for Top 30 visits

· Yahoo Sports

We are less than two weeks to the start of the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh and the Steelers are taking their Top 30 visits right to the wire. On Friday, the Steelers hosted a trio of NFL draft prosects that include Memphis offensive tackle Travis Burke, LSU linebacker Harold Perkins Jr. and Texas cornerback Malik Muhammad.

OT Travis Burke - Memphis

If the Steelers are heading into the offseason on the hunt for a left tackle to start the season in place of Broderick Jones, Burke isn't that guy. Burke projects as a 7th-round pick, and despite his size and physicality, is very raw in terms of his technique and has the look of a career backup and rotational player as opposed to a starter.

LB Harold Perkins Jr. - LSU

The Steelers' interest in inside linebackers this draft cycle tells us they are not sold on the idea of going into the season with Patrick Queen and Malik Harrison both on the roster. Perkins is a tweener at just 220lbs and could be viewed as more of a box safety than a true off-ball linebacker in the new Steelers defensive system. He's athletic and active but will slide in the draft due to a lack of true position and a history of LB/S tweeners struggling to stick in the NFL.

CB Malik Muhammad - Texas

Muhammad is a strong man cornerback with good size and athleticism. The Steelers have three third-round picks in the 2026 NFL draft and we could definitely see the team using one of them on Muhammad. He's got a bit of a slight build, and this impacts his willingness and ability to defend the run, but hecould see snaps early as a nickel cornerback. The Steelers are in good shape at cornerback after signing Jamel Dean, but we could see this as a move to push Brandin Echols in the slot.
