Special Express Trains Introduced on Tambaram–New Tinsukia and SMVT Bengaluru–Balurghat Routes

In a continued effort to enhance passenger convenience and expand travel opportunities, Indian Railways has decided to operate two special express trains services between Tambaram and New Tinsukia and SMVT Bengaluru and Balurghat. Special Train No. 06015/06016 (Tambaram–New Tinsukia–Tambaram) and Train No. 06561/06562 (SMVT Bengaluru–Balurghat–Bangalore Cantonment) Express will run three trips in each direction. These services will offer improved connectivity and additional travel options across important routes, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey experience for passengers.

Train No. 06015 (Tambaram - New Tinsukia) will depart from Tambaram at 10:15 hours on Mondays from 13th April, 2026 to 27th April, 2026 and will reach New Tinsukia at 04:30 hours on Thursdays. In the return direction, Train No. 06016 (New Tinsukia - Tambaram) will depart from New Tinsukia at 20:00 hours on Thursdays from 16th April, 2026 to 30th April, 2026 and will arrive at Tambaram at 16:00 hours on Sundays. The train will have a composition of 22 coaches, comprising Sleeper Class and General Second-Class coaches, ensuring comfortable travel for passengers. The special trains will run via several important stations including Chennai Egmore, Vijayawada, Bhubaneswar, Kharagpur, Malda Town, New Jalpaiguri, New Coochbehar, New Bongaigaon, Guwahati, Lumding, Furkating and Mariani thereby providing seamless connectivity across southern, eastern and northeastern regions of the country.

Train No. 06561 (SMVT Bengaluru–Balurghat) Express Special has already departed from SMVT Bengaluru at 08:50 hours on 12th April 2026 and will run on subsequent Sundays, i.e., 19th and 26th April 2026, reaching Balurghat at 06:00 hours on Tuesdays. In the return direction, Train No. 06562 (Balurghat - Bangalore Cantt) Express Special will depart from Balurghat at 05:15 hours on Wednesdays i.e., 15th, 22nd and 29th April, 2026 and will arrive at Bangalore Cantonment at 03:00 hours on Fridays. The train will have a composition of 22 coaches, comprising General Second Class, AC coaches and Sleeper Class coaches, ensuring comfortable travel for passengers. The train will run via Katpadi, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Simhachalam, Vizianagaram, Brahmapur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Kharagpur, Barddhaman, Malda Town and Buniadpur providing convenient connectivity across major enroute stations.

Wait listed passengers of other trains travelling in these routes can avail the opportunity to travel with comfort during this summer in these special trains.
