Both Orhorhoro and Smith were picked in the round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Orhorhoro was picked at number 35 from Clemson and Smith was picked at number 48 overall from LSU.
They were picked 13 spots apart. Neither of them could get a lot of playing time at their teams.
The coaches who drafted them are not there anymore. Both Orhorhoro and Smith still have two years left on their rookie contracts.

Smith did not play a lot for the Jacksonville Jaguars:
He played in 51 percent of the snaps in 2024.
In 2025 he played in only 36 percent of the defensive snaps.
He finished the 2025 season with 15 tackles in 13 games. The new coaches in Jacksonville, head coach Liam Coen and defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile did not use him a lot. So they decided to trade him. This trade gives the Jacksonville Jaguars a spot on their team before the draft next week.
The Atlanta Falcons needed players on their defensive line. They lost David Onyemata to the Jets.
Smith is 6-foot-5 and 306 pounds. He will be a help to the Atlanta Falcons defense under new head coach Kevin Stefanski.
This is a trade of two players who did not do well at their old teams. Now they get to start fresh in a new environment.
For the Jacksonville Jaguars, getting Orhorhoro is a thing. They need players on their defensive line. He is 23 years old. Has two years left on his contract. He can be of help.
