Rams draft results: L.A. trades up for WR C.J. Daniels
· Yahoo Sports
The Los Angeles Rams traded up in the sixth round to draft Miami receiver C.J. Daniels on Saturday. A former player at Liberty and LSU, Daniels finally addresses a need for another receiver on the Rams but will he make the 53-man roster? He was ranked 165th on Randy’s top-300 and the Rams got him at 197.
Lance Zierlein of NFL.com called Daniels a seventh round/free agent priority in his draft profile:

Daniels has a tremendous feel for creating catch opportunities with varied route tempo, body control and late separation tactics. He will struggle against a quality press and might need to be schemed into releases against certain corners. Daniels excels in putting himself between the throw and the defender, winning contested catches at a high rate during his time at LSU (2024) and Miami (2025). He’s confident, crafty and focused, but he’s average after the catch and unlikely to help on special teams, so his road to a roster spot will be challenging.
Daniels had over 1,000 yards at Liberty in 2023, his fourth season with the team. He did not have over 600 yards at either LSU or Miami.
At 6’2, 202 lbs, Daniels brings some size to the receiver position for the Rams. He will most likely need to compete against Konata Mumpfield and Jordan Whittington for opportunities moving forward. This is a big swing in the sixth round for Les Snead, but as we’ve seen with Puka Nacua you never know what gems you can find on day three.
