Brandon Ingram injury update

Ingram left the first half of Game 5 against the Cavaliers with what the Raptors are calling inflammation in his right heel. Toronto quickly ruled Ingram out for the game before the contest reached halftime.

Ingram played 11 minutes in the first half, producing just one point in that span. He appeared in 77 games this season, the second-most of his career and his most since his rookie season.

What happened to Brandon Ingram?

It's unclear exactly when Ingram suffered the injury, but Ingram got off to a slow start in the game and may have been trying to play through it.

Ingram has not had a great series against the Caveliers, as he's averaging 14.8 points on a 33.9 field goal percentage. He's played 36 minutes in three of the first four games while making just 4.8 field goals per game.

After the game, Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic said that Ingram has been dealing with the injury all year.

"That's something that's on and off," Rajakovic said.

What is heel inflammation?

Ingram was ruled out with right heel inflammation, meaning he experienced pain in his right heel over the course of the game. That could indicate he is at risk of a more serious injury, or it could mean the team is being precautionary by keeping him out.
