Toronto Police say the stabbing victim and his friends were involved in “a physical altercation” with the group of accused earlier in the day.
“While the victim was walking through Flemingdon Park, the suspects returned in their vehicles,” police said in a statement Wednesday.
The seven accused assailants then approached the victim and engaged in another physical altercation with him.
During the second encounter, one of the assailants pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim, police allege.
The victim was taken to hospital but police said his injuries were not considered life-threatening.
