A matchup of college softball's No. 1 and No. 16 overall seeded teams, it was Alabama who eventually took a lead in the best-of-three series Friday night, doing so via a decisive 7-0 victory. As a result, the Crimson Tide are now one win away from a trip to Oklahoma City for the Women's College World Series, making Saturday's Game 2 a must-win for LSU in order to keep the series alive and force a decisive Game 3.
In the win, Alabama was led by a dominant performance in the circle from pitcher Jocelyn Briski. The Crimson Tide ace was nearly perfect Friday night, throwing seven scoreless innings where she surrendered only one hit with 11 strikeouts.
Offensively, the Crimson Tide were just as good, as Alabama racked up 10 hits overall. Leading the way were two each from Jena Young, Alexis Pupillo, Marlie Giles, and Kristen White, the first of which also had three RBI.
Here is a look at how social media reacted late Friday night following Alabama's impressive Game 1 win over the Tigers.

Wow, what a gem from Jocelyn Briski. Allowed a leadoff double to Lassiter to open the game, and sat down the next 21 batters she faced in a row, topped with 11 strikeouts. Pure dominance from the Bama ace.
