The Buffalo Bills made a big change this offseason when they fired head coach Sean McDermott and promoted offensive coordinator Joe Brady into that role.

It has the potential to swing the Josh Allen era in one direction or the other, depending on how it works out.
It also potentially took the team by surprise. The Bills had been really good under McDermott. Not every regime would've let him go.
Buffalo decided to do something different, though, and now the Bills have to move forward.
The players, for their part, are fans of Brady.
That even includes defensive tackle Ed Oliver, who wouldn't have worked with Brady as much as the offensive players.
On Tuesday, Oliver was asked by reporters about Brady, and he had a fun response:
“I always thought Joe was the coolest white boy I ever met.”

He might have to address this take with his superstar QB, but it's still a sign of love from Oliver to share that feeling about his new head coach.
Brady hasn't been a head coach before, working his way up through offensive staffs in college and then at the professional level to get to this role. That means he'll have plenty to prove.
The Bills' future is hinging in a lot of ways on what Brady can, and can't, accomplish.
To get anywhere at all, he'll need to have his locker room behind him. And having a leader like Oliver on his side is a good place to start.
