Suncoast Humane Society seeks special volunteers for kittens
The Suncoast Humane Society is seeking community members who are willing to become neonatal kitten fosters.
Unlike traditional fostering, neonatal kitten fostering requires around-the-clock commitment, the nonprofit said. Orphaned newborn kittens must be bottle fed every 2–3 hours, including overnight, during the first weeks of life.
“This role takes an incredibly compassionate person,” said Maureen O’Nell, CEO of SuncoastHumane Society. “These tiny lives are fragile, and despite best efforts, there are times heartbreakhappens. But for the kittens who do survive, fosters truly become heroes.”
Prior experience is not required. All new neonatal fosters will participate in one-on-one instructional training. For more information and training opportunities, email [email protected]
