Donald — a three-time Defensive Player of the Year and eight-time first-team All-Pro player — retired after the 2023 season. He's been out of football now for two seasons but has continued working out and staying in shape. He's already had former teammates say that they could see Donald making a return to play alongside Garrett.
And now, Donald himself admitted that he's intrigued about the idea. In a text exchange with Pat McAfee, Donald told the former NFL punter that he had to see if he could reignite that fire to play again. But it's clearly been under consideration since the trade. Donald turned 35 last week. And like he admitted, he's been out of football for a couple of years. But if anyone could make that comeback and still be impactful, it would probably be Donald.
We'll have to see if that unretirement comes to fruition.
