The cornerstone of the Cleveland Browns franchise bid his final farewell to his first NFL franchise on Monday evening.

In the deal of the offseason, the Cleveland Browns and the Los Angeles Rams came to an agreement to send the two-time defensive player of the year to the Rams in exchange for linebacker Jared Verse and a plethora of draft capital. Myles Garrett spent nine total years in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the number one overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft, and from the moment he got to the Browns, he was just as good as advertised. After fighting a nagging injury to begin his rookie year, Garrett wasted absolutely zero time, and on his very first snap, he sacked New York Jets quarterback Josh McCown and the legend was born.

It was a job well done for Garrett, even though he wished he could have done more.

Garrett took to X on Monday night and drafted a very long and heartfelt message to Cleveland fans. In it, he said that the city of Cleveland shaped him, Cleveland embraced him, and that he wished he could have done more.

He thanked the city, the region, his teammates, the ownership, Andrew Berry, and everyone a part of the Browns team, from top to bottom.

There wasn't much more Garrett could have done. He put together one of the greatest careers we have ever seen from a defensive end, and now he has the chance to add a Super Bowl ring to his list of accolades.
