The New England Patriots acquired A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, but there are still players who could help them seemingly on the trade block.

The Patriots likely do not need more help at wide receiver, but their pass rush may still be an area where they look to add. They have Dre'Mont Jones now, and should have a healthy Harold Landry to start the year. They drafted Gabe Jacas as well, but they could still use some help. 98.5 The Sports Hub's Alex Barth urged the Patriots to trade for Kayvon Thibodeaux after pulling off a trade for Brown.

Barth suggested that with the addition of Brown, the Patriots can afford to part ways with some of their depth at wide receiver. Kayshon Boutte has not joined the team for workouts yet, and he is in the final year of his deal. He may quietly be asking for a trade, knowing that his best chance to get paid is playing on a team where he sees more opportunities.

The New York Giants signaled their desperation at receiver by adding Odell Beckham Jr., Braxton Berrios and Juju Smith-Schuster on Monday. They could use a player like Boutte while Malik Nabers' health remains a question mark. Additionally, they can afford to part with Thibodeaux like the Patriots can do with Boutte.

"On the other side, Thibodeaux looks like a potential odd-man out in the Giants' edge rusher rotation," wrote Barth. "Veteran Brian Burns anchors that group, with a lot of young talent around him. The Giants have used first-round picks in each of the last two drafts on edge rushers, taking Abdul Carter third overall last year and Arvell Reese fifth overall just a few months ago. Like Boutte, Thibodeaux is on an expiring contract. The 2022 first-round pick is set to play on the $14.7 million fifth-year option of his rookie contract in 2026. Given all their recent investments on the edge, it's fair to wonder if the 25-year-old is in the Giants' long-term plans."

Thibodeaux finished fourth in the Defensive Rookie of the Year race after being selected No. 5 overall in 2022. He has 11.5 sacks in his sophomore season, but has just eight sacks in the last two years. He has been floating around in trade rumors this offseason, and the Patriots could use him. Perhaps a change of scenery could help his production as well.
