· Yahoo Sports
The Chargers have finalized a rookie contract with first-round selection Akheem Mesidor on a fully guaranteed four-year deal worth $20.46 million. Announced by agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey, the contract includes a fifth-year team option for the No. 22 overall pick of the 2026 NFL Draft.
The former Miami product is coming off a dominant collegiate campaign. In 2025, Mesidor guided the Hurricanes to the National Championship Game while racking up an ACC-leading 12.5 sacks, 17.5 tackles for loss, and four forced fumbles. He earned First-Team All-ACC and Second-Team All-American honors.

Mesidor is expected to step into a major rotational role alongside edge rushers Khalil Mack and Tuli Tuipulotu. Head coach Jim Harbaugh has highly praised the 25-year-old rookie's versatility and polished skill set.
The Bolts have all of their draft selections under contract except for fourth-round pick Brenen Thompson, who still remains unsigned.
