Justin Trudeau reportedly wants Katy Perry to live part-time in Montreal and cheer for the Habs

According to a new report, Justin Trudeau wants Katy Perry to live part of the year in Montreal — and cheer for the Habs.

After the former prime minister snapped up a $4.26-million home in Montreal’s Outremont neighbourhood earlier this year, Us Weekly reports that Trudeau wants his pop star girlfriend to spend “part of the year” living in Quebec.
“Justin is showing Katy his new home, where he wants her to live part of the year with him,” a source tells the outlet.
In February, Trudeau bought the home in the northern part of Mount Royal, according to the Montreal Gazette .
Trudeau’s new digs boasts seven bedrooms, 5,000 square-feet of floor space and was constructed in the 1930s.
“It’s large enough for a blended family,” the tipster tells Us , “and in a prestigious neighbourhood where he used to live.”
But Perry won’t live in California entirely, a second insider spills. With her 5-year-old daughter, Daisy, going to school in Montecito, the Dark Horse singer has established a co-parenting routine with her former fiance, Orlando Bloom.
“Orlando and Katy have a good rhythm with co-parenting, so that’s where Katy spends the majority of her time unless she is travelling on tour,” the source adds.
Trudeau and Perry, who have been documenting their relationship on social media, are working through a long-distance relationship. The singer accompanied him to World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, earlier this year and the twosome took in Justin Bieber’s headlining slot at Coachella in April.
But recently, they were spotted out in Montreal.
“They lived like locals — they shopped for food, attended dinner parties as a couple, took walks and, most importantly, watched the Montreal Canadiens beat the Carolina Hurricanes,” an informant says.
With the Habs out of the Stanley Cup playoffs, the informant says if Perry starts spending more time in the city she’ll have to start rooting for Montreal.
“If Justin is Katy’s ‘love of her life,’ then she must also love hockey, and especially the Habs,” they say.
One confidante tells the magazine that the couple are also “integrating their lives more and more,” with Perry introducing her daughter to Trudeau’s children – Xavier, 18, and Hadrien, 12, and Ella-Grace, 17.
“Their relationship has deepened over the past several months, and they are about to celebrate their one-year anniversary,” the leaker shares. “They both feel it’s important to blend their families thoughtfully and at a comfortable pace.”
‘Katy loves that Justin laughs at her jokes’
Trudeau and Perry first sparked dating rumours when they were spotted having dinner in Montreal last July.
Shortly afterwards, photos and videos shared to social media showed Trudeau dancing and singing at Perry’s concert at Montreal’s Bell Centre, alongside his daughter.
In one video, Trudeau was seen belting out the lyrics to Perry’s 2010 hit, Firework.
The sweethearts were later photographed in September hugging and kissing aboard Perry’s yacht.
They then celebrated Perry’s 41st birthday at the Crazy Horse Paris and were photographed by TMZ leaving the venue holding hands and smiling .
“Of course, Katy and Justin looked absolutely stunning together and appeared to be happier than clams,” the website reported.
An insider close to Perry told PEOPLE that the whirlwind romance was a “life twist” that caught the Grammy nominee by surprise following her split from Bloom .
After the pair went Instagram official in December, another person in the know said that Trudeau, who announced his resignation as prime minister in January 2025 amid dismal public support, was loving the newfound attention he was getting thanks to his relationship.
“Star f***ing is very much the Trudeau brand,” a political tattletale told the New York Post .
According Us Weekly’s recent report , Perry is “really happy right now.”
“Katy loves that Justin laughs at her jokes and understands her quirky humour,” the source says. “Her friends think he’s a good match for her. The future is definitely something they’ve talked about, and they’re both committed to seeing where this goes.”
