Breanna Stewart could always shoot.
At Cicero-North Syracuse, she could shoot. At UConn, a good shooter. With the Seattle Storm, still a quality outside shot maker for her size. In her first year with the New York Liberty, still true.
It's not true anymore.
Yes, Stewie scores a ton inside the arc.
But from beyond the 3-point line, it's turned atrocious.
This is what her 3-point percentage year-over-year looks like in her WNBA career:

She joined the Liberty in 2023, for reference.
Since then, everything has fallen off a table as far as Stewart's shooting from beyond the arc.
It's not an overall shooting mechanics thing. This season, she's shooting 89.4% from the foul line, which would be the highest rate of her career.
She has begun to shoot fewer 3s than she used to, but that could correlate with the fact that she knows she's not making them.
At times this season, it has felt like Stewart has had a bit more hesitancy to her game.
In other moments, she goes into takeover mode, like 23 points in the second half en route to 30 points total in a Saturday win over the Indiana Fever.
Stewie is still an all-time great player.
But for whatever reason, her 3-point shot has totally abandoned her.
