Following his arrival in San Francisco, it sounds as veteran wide receiver Mike Evans has integrated quickly into the 49ers' system during organized team activities (OTAs).

Tight end George Kittle, who is still rehabbing from the Achilles injury he suffered at the end of the 2025 season, recently noted that Evans’ decision to participate in these voluntary sessions highlights his commitment to learning a new offense.
"He doesn't usually go to OTAs, and he showed up to this because he's in a new offense for the first time in 12 years," Kittle said on Fanduel TV's Up & Adams show. "And he cooks everybody. Like, he was cooking everybody, don't care who it is. You can't just cover him one-on-one, really. Like he's going to win almost every single time."
"Everybody's getting cooked by Mike [Evans]" 🤣

Kittle was particularly struck by the immediate chemistry forming between Evans and quarterback Brock Purdy.
"Him and Brock, like, immediately established a rhythm, which is really fun to watch," Kittle said. "And like, he just, everything he does is just such at a high level of professionalism that, like, you don't always see it from a 13-year wide receiver who's put up a thousand yards in, what, 11 out of 12 seasons. You don't always see that. And so like, he came in and like, everybody's just so happy with Mike, and he's awesome."
Evans appears on his way to becoming the 49ers' top receiving option for 2026. He joined Ricky Pearsall alongside fellow free-agent Christian Kirk and second-round rookie De'Zhaun Stribling as the top receivers for Purdy. But given Evans' pedigree as an 11-time 1,000-yard receiver, the veteran should quickly command a sizable target share in his first season with the team.
