Brown and Diggs are both proven No. 1 receivers in the NFL. Diggs was a 1,000-yard receiver last season, but Brown is younger and plays a different style of football than Diggs. However, quarterback Drake Maye sees some similarities between the two.

"The best thing about him, he’s been a winner," Maye said. "He knows what it’s like to win. He adds something to that room that we were kind of looking for. I think Stef provided it for us last year. There's been guys that are growing in their roles, but coming in with that stature and his ability and his size, and just the respect that he walks in there with that Stef had, A.J.’s got it too.”

Diggs was an All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowler when he got to New England. He had led the league in receiving yards and receptions at one point in his career, so it was easy for young players to look up to him. Similarly, Brown also has an elite resume.

He has a Super Bowl ring, three Pro Bowl selections, and over 8,000 career receiving yards. The Patriots saw Diggs emerge as a leader last season. Now, the team hopes that Brown can use his experience to fill a similar role.
