Bengals rookie sounds happy to avoid contract drama

The Cincinnati Bengals have worked overtime this offseason to avoid contract drama.

Those Bengals said goodbye to someone like Trey Hendrickson, reworked Dexter Lawrence’s deal after the trade and even restructured Joe Burrow’s contract.
Oh, and they also have the entire rookie class under contract and gave Cashius Howell a fully guaranteed deal.
Now, as Howell told reporters, he can celebrate by comfortably buying a house in the Cincinnati area and focusing on the upcoming training camp.
"It was a good feeling just to put it behind me and not have to worry about anything with finances," Howell told Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. "The mindset is still the same. Just come in and do my part every day. Being on time, making sure I've got attention on every facet of the game."
The Bengals didn’t have to give Howell a fully guaranteed deal, so the willingness to just get it done bodes well for how the franchise will continue to run things into the future.
Good news for Howell, no doubt, but also probably great news for DJ Turner’s quest for a big extension this summer, too.
