Ontario Provincial Police say officers from their Caledon Detachment were dispatched to TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley, located at 19131 Main St., for a report of a sexual assault late in the afternoon during the second round of the prestigious professional golf tournament.

“The victim, an individual working at the event, reported that at approximately 5:12 p.m., while performing crowd control duties near Hole 5, they were approached by an unknown male who appeared to be intoxicated and acting in a disruptive manner,” police said in a statement released Saturday.

“During the interaction, it was reported that the suspect made inappropriate physical contact with the victim.”

“No injuries were sustained as a result of the incident,” the OPP added.

Investigators have released an image of a person of interest hoping someone can help identify him.

The man is described as white, approximately 40 to 45 years old, about 5-foot-11 and 230 pounds, with a heavy, unathletic build, short brown buzz-cut hair and a brown scruffy beard.

He was wearing a white golf shirt with a grey logo on the front, shorts, sunglasses and no hat.

“The person of interest was last seen leaving the area of Hole 5 with a group of five to six individuals, heading toward the 13th tee box,” police said, adding the investigation is “ongoing.”

Police said investigators are working with event organizers and reviewing available security video from the area.

Anyone with information regarding the man’s identity or whereabouts, or who may have witnessed the incident or has video footage such as cellphone recordings, is urged to call the Caledon OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
