The 27-year-old Spain left-back, who was also being courted by both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, is headed to the Santiago Bernabeu.

As already reported, an official announcement of the transfer is expected to arrive at some point later today.

Cucurella to signs until 2032

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Cucurella will sign a long-term contract with Real Madrid which will keep him tied down to the club for a lengthy period.

Indeed, as per the transfer expert, the Chelsea left-back is expected to ink a six-year contract with Los Blancos, committing himself to the club until the summer of 2032.

As for the transfer, Romano confirms that the deal to bring Cucurella from Chelsea to Real Madrid will cost a total of €60 million – €55 million in fixed fee plus another €5 million in add-ons.

Cucurella will become the fourth major arrival for Real Madrid this summer, with Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, and Bernardo Silva also having agreed to sign for the club.

More than €100 million spent at left-back in two summers

The deal for Cucurella comes within a year of Real Madrid splashing big money on signing Alvaro Carreras from SL Benfica.

Indeed, the Spanish capital club spent €50 million on the former La Fabrica talent in 2025, and have now gone on to splash another €60 million to reinforce the same position – making it €110 million within a span of one year.

Cucurella will now directly compete with Carreras for a starting spot in the Real Madrid lineup.

What the move also means is that Real Madrid will now actively look to offload at least one of their current left-backs, with Fran Garcia the most likely casualty of the situation.

Ferland Mendy also does not seem to have a future at the club but his current injury, which has sidelined him until October at least, makes a departure this summer impossible.
