How much did Miami spend in free agency? According to CBS Sports, Sullivan dropped $96.9 million on the 21 signees, with a good chunk of that going to quarterback Malik Willis, who signed a three-year, $67.5 million deal with $45 million fully guaranteed.
The Dolphins' offseason spending ranked 24th among the 32 NFL teams. The only teams that spent less than them were the Atlanta Falcons ($91.4 million), Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($89.2 million), Green Bay Packers ($78.81 million), Denver Broncos ($75.46 million), Detroit Lions ($59.22 million), Jacksonville Jaguars ($57.96 million), Philadelphia Eagles ($56.33 million) and Minnesota Vikings ($53.73 million).

Miami was strapped when it came to spending this year after taking a huge $55 million dead cap hit when releasing Tua Tagovailoa. In total, they have $179.2 million tied up in players no longer on the team, including Tyreek Hill ($28.25 million), Jaylen Waddle ($23.23 million), Jalen Ramsey ($20.87 million), Minkah Fitzpatrick ($13 million), Bradley Chubb ($10.97 million) and Terron Armstead ($10.73 million).
Things should be a bit easier next offseason, which means the team could spend quite a bit more.
