Shocking Ronaldinho news emerges right as Brazil heats up at the 2026 World Cup
· Yahoo Sports
Brazil took care of business on Friday night in Philadelphia, cruising to a 3-0 win over Haiti behind two first-half goals from Cunha (23′ and 36′), and another goal from Vinicius Junior just before halftime. This came less than a week after Seleção drew 1-1 with Morocco to open the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The result eliminated Haiti, a World Cup debutant since 1974, and pushed five-time champion Brazil to the top of Group C with just one game left in the group stages, a date with Scotland on Wednesday, June 24, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.
But while Brazil was celebrating the win on the field, another soccer legend was stealing headlines in a way nobody was expecting.
On Saturday morning, news broke that Ronaldinho had signed with Italian Serie C club Ravenna FC. He’s 46 years old and hasn’t played a competitive match since 2015, when he was with Brazilian side Fluminense.

Ronaldinho is widely regarded as one of the most talented soccer players of all time. He won the 2002 FIFA World Cup with Brazil, the 2005 Ballon d’Or, two FIFA World Player of the Year awards (2004, 2005), and the 2006 UEFA Champions League with FC Barcelona.
Now, after 11 years away from club competition, he’s agreed to sign with Ravenna. Initial reports indicate he will take on a marketing and ambassador role designed to raise the club’s international profile, with an official unveiling reportedly set for June 23 in Miami. However, Ravenna honorary vice-president Ariedo Braida said a return to the pitch is “not out of the question” for Ronaldinho. The connection goes back years, as Braida originally signed Ronaldinho to AC Milan in 2008.

Even if Ronaldinho doesn’t actually play, the significance is hard to ignore.
A global icon attaching his name to a club two leagues below Serie A is almost unheard of. And with Brazilian soccer dominating headlines again, thanks to the national team’s current World Cup push, the timing couldn’t be better.
