Bengals among top teams picked to end Super Bowl drought this season

Indiana won the College Football Playoff National Championship. The New York Knicks won the NBA Finals. In a year where anything can happen, maybe this is the year the Cincinnati Bengals win their first Super Bowl. After all, they’ve been going all in this offseason to put themselves in Super Bowl contention this season.

CBS Sports’ Bryan DeArdo recently ranked 16 teams and how likely they are to end their Super Bowl drought this season. DeArdo has the Bengals at No. 2 behind the Buffalo Bills. Both the Bengals and Bills have never won the Super Bowl in their respective franchise histories. There’s a bond between the two fan bases over their respective postseason heartbreaks and Damar Hamlin overcoming cardiac arrest in January of 2023.

There are both teams that haven’t won Super Bowls and teams that have won the Super Bowl on this list. The Bengals rank ahead of the Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders, Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, and Miami Dolphins. It’s worth noting that all of the teams on this list that have won Super Bowls only have droughts that go back to 1995.
This week saw mandatory minicamp conclude the OTA season for the Bengals before training camp starts July 29th. All seven of the Bengals’ draft picks have been signed, and there is hope that cornerback DJ Turner and the Bengals can come to an agreement on a potentially high-impact contract extension.
If anything, the Bengals are singularly focused on winning without distractions that have been prevalent in the last three ramp-ups to the season.
