Isaiah Evans could end up teammates with Cam Boozer after first-round snub
· Yahoo Sports
The first round of the 2026 NBA Draft Tuesday was a tough night for recent Duke guard Isaiah Evans as the former Blue Devil went without hearing his name called despite being invited to attend the draft in the green room.
Although Evans was considered one of the stronger shooting prospects in the draft, especially toward the end of the first round, he was leap-frogged by another shooter, Alex Karaban of UConn, who led the 2026 NBA Draft Combine in shooting percentage across all shooting drills. To make matters worse, the Dallas Mavericks passed on Evans with the No. 30 overall pick, canceling a possible reunion between Evans and his former Duke teammate Cooper Flagg.

When the second round begins Wednesday, Evans will be atop the "best available" list. The New York Knicks hold the No. 31 overall pick, but if they pass on Evans, he could end up playing with his college teammate Cameron Boozer in Memphis, as the Grizzlies hold the No. 32 pick.
