Kahan, who is in the midst of a North American stadium tour in support of his latest album, The Great Divide , made fans in Toronto pledge to find a washroom if they felt a number two coming on.
“This is awkward and this is fresh in more ways than one,” he said onstage Sunday night at Rogers Stadium . “When you enter this building, you enter a social contract … Rule no. 2, besides, don’t literally f***ing kill each other, is don’t s*** on the floor.”
Laughing, he said he wanted the 50,000 in attendance to take a pledge.
“We’re gonna do some therapy type thing … Basically repeat after me, OK? … ‘I solemnly swear. I will not s*** my pants. And if I do, I won’t take it from my pants and put it on the floor.’

Kahan was forced to make the statement after a fan shared viral footage on social media from his Philadelphia concert Friday night that alleged someone near the stage had defecated on the floor.
According to one bystander , the alleged culprit didn’t want to miss any songs and reportedly “acted like nothing happened.”
“One of the most unreal concert experiences I’ve ever witnessed,” they wrote, adding that security was flagged down to remove the person.
Kahan saw the chatter online and immediately weighed in via X , writing, “If that’s what tour is going to be like, I’m going to need to buy significantly more boxers.”
He later returned to social media and addressed the alleged incident by telling his fans to find a bathroom if they felt the urge to go.
“If you have to poop at a show please dear god just go to the bathroom lmao,” he wrote on X. “I’ve pooped my pants as much as the next 29-year-old but you guys gotta understand there’s a venue worker out there with a 1000 yard stare after dealing with that.”
Kahan jokingly followed up, “I s*** myself onstage in Charlottesville, but that’s because I am dedicated to my craft.”
As for his show in Toronto, it was poop-free.
Kahan logged on to X in the early hours of Monday morning to praise the crowd. “ Toronto f***ing insane,” he wrote.
Fans wearing diapers is a thing
Kahan is reminding fans that bathrooms do exist, following news that Olivia Rodrigo has had to perform while smelling her fans’ poop from the stage.
“I have been to certain concerts and certain festivals where people wear diapers so that they can be front row of the show,” she said earlier this month during a stop at KISS FM UK studios to promote her new album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love . “That’s been an experience of a performer that I have smelled and experienced.”
During Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, several Swifties also documented their experience wearing adult diapers on TikTok, according to the New York Post .
“For the amount of stress and time it took for me to get Taylor Swift tickets, I will be getting an adult diaper because I’m not missing a minute of it,” one fan said.
“The diaper rash and trench foot was worth this moment of Taylor Swift looking right at us,” another spectator shared .
