What to know about the pitching matchup many are anticipating:

Burns and Misiorowski haven't faced off in MLB.

Burns' only appearance against the Brewers was in relief, near the end of the 2025 season. He struck out four and walked two in 1 2/3 hitless innings.

Misiorowski's worst start of his rookie season came against the Reds. He allowed five earned runs on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts in just 1 1/3 innings August 15, 2025.

Misiorowski also made the only regular-season relief appearance of his career against the Reds, allowing an earned run on three hits with three walks and three strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings of work in September 2025.

Misiorowski has not faced the Reds in 2026.

Misiorowski's career-best fastball is 105.5 MPH; Burns has been clocked at 100+.

Misiorowski threw a 105.5 mph fastball to Pete Crow-Armstrong on the third pitch of the game June 27 against the Chicago Cubs.

He said he slipped a little bit when he threw the pitch, and joked that he thinks he has "a little more."

Burns hit 102 mph while he was pitching at Tennessee in 2023. He has thrown 100 mph in the majors, including 100.1 against the Colorado Rockies in April.

Burns was the second overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft first round. Misiorowski was a second-round pick in 2022.

The Brewers' first-round pick in 2022, infielder Eric Brown, hasn't reached the majors. The Reds selected Cam Collier nine picks earlier, and selected Sal Stewart five picks after Brown at 32nd overall.

Misiorowski has the best WAR (5.0) of any second-rounder. Cincinnati's second-rounder, catcher Logan Tanner, is in his first minor-league season since converting to a pitcher.

The only 2024 first-rounder with a better WAR in MLB than Burns' 4.3 is the Athletics' Nick Kurtz (8.9), who was selected two picks after Burns. The Cardinals' JJ Wetherholt, who is challenging Stewart among NL Rookie of the Year frontrunners, ranks third (3.7).
