Kam Jones lasted less than a week as a member of the Chicago Bulls.
They traded for the guard from the Indiana Pacers last Wednesday during the second round of the NBA Draft.
On Tuesday, they waived him.
The Bulls announced the news themselves, as it wasn't some massive breaking news on the first day of free agency.

Why did the Bulls get rid of Kam Jones?
They were saving money with this move.
His salary was going to become fully guaranteed, and Chicago opted not to pay that.
The Chicago Bulls plan to waive Kam Jones, league sources told @hoopshype. Jones had a deadline today that would’ve fully guaranteed his salary at $2.15 million. He was the 38th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers and was traded to Chicago on draft night.

The reality is that the Bulls were always likely going to do that.
They took Jones off the Pacers' hands as part of a draft-pick trade, which meant the Pacers didn't have to be the team that placed him on waivers.
The Bulls may have considered briefly keeping Jones, but it's clear they didn't think about it for too long.
A former second-round pick, Jones has some talent and could get another chance, but it doesn't seem like it'll be in Chicago.
