8 Texas A&M players make Athlon Sports' 2026 Preseason All-SEC Teams
· Yahoo Sports
Texas A&M's 2026 roster has continued to receive offseason praise after third-year coach Mike Elko and his staff landed 17 players from the transfer portal, combined with 26 signees from the 2026 recruiting class, while 65% of the 2025 roster returns, most notably starting quarterback Marcel Reed, who enters the most important seasons of his football career.
After eight players were named to DCTF's All-Texas first and second teams, Athlon Sports named its own eight Aggies to its first, second, third, and fourth teams. Even after a record ten players were selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, Elko is confident that his roster isn't lacking NFL talent, and, most importantly, depth at nearly every position.

Making the first team, junior wide receiver Mario Craver and senior safety Marcus Ratcliffe have taken over as locker room leaders and are expected to lead the Aggies in several categories this fall. Wide receiver and return specialist Terry Bussey and veteran starting center Mark Nabou earned second-team honors, while safety Dalton Brooks and Northwestern transfer edge Anto Saka are third-team selections.
Lastly, entering a pivotal point of his playing career, former five-star running back Rueben Owens II is one of two fourth-team selections, alongside senior cornerback Dezz Ricks, who serves as A&M's No. 1 cornerback after his breakout 2025 season. Potential is the keyword for several of the Texas A&M players' names, especially Terry Bussey, who has yet to break out as a wide receiver.
