Egypt is in Dallas for its Round of 32 encounter against Australia, with the game scheduled at the Cowboys' 94,000-capacity arena in Arlington. However, their touchdown in the Lone Star State began on a contentious note before their landmark fixture.
Members of Egypt's backroom staff became embroiled in a heated exchange with police officers upon reaching the team hotel. The situation escalated after an officer instructed the squad to keep moving, stating they were there to "protect you," but the staff members held firm before declining to follow one officer's aggressive order to "back off," as per The Mirror US.

The exchange between the Egyptian team director and the police officer was labeled by social media users as "disrespectful," with law enforcement being criticized for "acting like tough guys" in a "pathetic" showing.
All of the chaos was unfolding while a young supporter was snapping a selfie with a member of Egypt's World Cup team.
"We are aware of the video circulating on social media regarding an officer and interaction with members from a soccer team," Dallas PD's statement began. "The Dallas Police Department responded to an area hotel at the request of hotel security regarding an individual without event credentials attempting to gain access.
"It was later learned that the individuals weren't displaying credentials properly which is a requirement. The situation was resolved on scene, and DPD met with representatives of the team to address their concerns. The matter has since been resolved."
Nevertheless, World Cup supporters were unconvinced by Dallas PD's statement. One commenter accused the officers of being on a "power trip," while another called on the department to fund counseling for a young fan who had witnessed the confrontation escalate.

"Your officer acted like a power tripping d---head and yall will move mountains to deny accountability," one fan responded.
"Pay for the therapy of that young fan. He will need it," another reacted. "Y'all made this worse, instead of apologizing and punishing that thing, you are acting like heroes," a third tweeted.
"You can always ask first, instead of going straight to the use of force and violence. Think about it DPD," a fourth said.
"Why didn't your officer just ask nicely? Instead his conduct has embarrassed all of us. Instead of making excuses you should apologize immediately," a fifth commented.
Egypt took an early lead in their historic World Cup knockout stage debut. Emam Ashour broke the deadlock for the North Africans in the 13th minute with a precisely placed header.
