It was no secret that they were in negotiations with Sassuolo for Laurienté and he was eager to make the transfer, but that the two clubs were struggling to agree on a fee.
Sassuolo want at least €25-30m to let go of the Frenchman, whereas the proposal had been closer to €20m.

Sports Digitale reported that Italiano had given his blessing to sign either Laurienté or Trossard, but only one will be purchased this summer.
This evening, Turkish transfer pundit Yagiz Sabuncuoglu claims that Besiktas made an offer worth €18m plus €2m in add-ons to Arsenal for Trossard.
If that is accepted, then the deal is off with Sassuolo.
Trossard is currently at the 2026 World Cup with Belgium, but his contract with Arsenal expires at the end of the season, so this is their last chance to sell the 31-year-old.
