“Boston, they packed me up… I wasn’t thrilled with the amount of respect that was shown during this process. There was a bit of a lack of respect. I think it was fine at one point, and then things just kind of went left,” Brown said.
“Brad (Stevens) is probably getting a lot of the criticism (for the trade). I wasn’t thrilled with the way he facilitated some of the conversations. But I definitely think there’s more to it. I just wish that the more to it could’ve been explained to me,” he continued.

Jaylen Brown still can’t believe he got traded to the Philadelphia 76ers (of all teams), given his countless battles with them in the past as a Boston Celtics player. However, he assured his new team he’ll be good to go next season.
“My brain is doing a 360 right now. Literally, I’ve been programmed to be like what, Philly? Nah, smoke. Now it’s what, Boston? Now it’s smoke the other way. It’s completely reversed,” Brown admitted. “A lot of people have reached out already, so I’m excited about the community.”
I don’t want no special treatment, I don’t need no handouts… I plan on earning my respect one day at a time by putting in the work. I’m looking forward to getting in the gym, the whole process,” he continued.
Despite feeling blindsided, Brown has a legitimate chance to compete for his second career NBA championship with the 76ers, as he joins a robust core of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe.
