Broncos Country believes Dobbins will have most impact

This week’s SBNation Reacts poll didn’t have quite unanimity as recent polls, but there was still a clear majority when it came to deciding which running back would have the most impact on the offense.
By experience and salary alone, J’Kaylin Dobbins should be the likely choice of most fans.

But injury history could easily scare even the most casual fan away from that choice given the fact that after a stellar rookie debut in 2020, Dobbins’ has yet to finish a full season. Yet the promise is always there because Dobbins is dominant when he’s on the field.
In just 10 games last season in his first with the Broncos, Dobbins rushed for 772 yards and scored four touchdowns, well on his way to a 1,000-yard season, and more importantly to reviving the Broncos’ running game — an ongoing battle.
What might be more interesting from the poll is the fact that more fans chose rookie Jonah Coleman over second-year back RJ Harvey for impact this season.
Luca Evans of the Denver Post believes OTAs and minicamp revealed a potential star in Coleman:
“One reality became abundantly clear from watching Broncos practices through OTAs and minicamp: Coleman is going to play right away. …And Sean Payton should love Coleman, who doesn’t fumble, doesn’t drop passes and should instantly prove an upgrade from Tyler Badie’s lack of third-down juice last season. …Coleman could just take some difficult touches off Harvey’s plate if (and likely when) Dobbins misses time.”
In looking at the poll, I imagine the 62% voting for Dobbins are hoping he has the most impact because he currently has the most proven potential when healthy. But I bet the 25% choosing Coleman believe he has the most potential down the stretch.
If the two of them can just combine for more than 100 rushing yards each game that would already be a huge improvement to the running game.
