Anderson Castle's tenure with the Colts

Castle went undrafted this past April, but he did not initially sign with the Colts. Instead, he was brought in as a tryout during rookie minicamp and then signed afterward.

What to know about Anderson Castle

Castle played six seasons in college, spending the first five years at Appalachian State. This past season in the ACC was his most productive. Castle would rush for 488 yards, averaging 4.2 yards per attempt, and found the end zone 12 times.

In the passing game, he had a modest 18 targets last season. Also of note, Castle has ample special teams experience, playing 638 career snaps, most of which came on the kick return, kick coverage, and punt return units.

Looking ahead to 2026 for Anderson Castle

Chances are that the most likely landing spot for Castle in Year 1 is on the practice squad. Leading the way at running back is Jonathan Taylor, while DJ Giddens and Seth McGowan -- two recent draft picks -- are battling over the backup running back role.

Ulysses Bentley also has experience on his side after spending last season with the team. Typically, teams roster three running backs. Also on the roster is fellow UDFA Lincoln Pare.
