"He won't be able to play for the rest of the tournament. Unfortunately, he's no longer available to us," coach Nestor Lorenzo said in a news conference on Monday.
Cordoba suffered a muscle injury during the round of 32 win against Ghana last week. Lorenzo didn't disclose any further details.
According to the El Tiempo newspaper, the player torn a muscle fibre in his left adductor muscle.
Lorenzo also said that a virus had been going around among the players but that everyone was fit and doing well.
