Unfortunately, the fight is off.
Holland has suffered an injury and has been forced out of the matchup, according to social media user Kevin K, who was first to report the news. It is currently unclear if Smith will remain on the card or if UFC will be able to find him a replacement opponent on short notice.
Holland (29-15-1) was coming off a unanimous decision victory over Randy Brown at UFC 327, which snapped a two-fight skid. Before that win, “Trailblazer” suffered back-to-back defeats against Mike Malott and Daniel Rodriguez.
The longtime UFC action fighter has alternated wins and losses over his last several appearances and currently sits at 4-4 across his previous eight fights.
Smith (12-0), meanwhile, has quickly become one of the most violent and hyped prospects in UFC’s Welterweight division.
The undefeated prospect most recently destroyed Josiah Harrell at UFC Houston to earn a Performance of the Night bonus (watch highlights). Prior to that, Smith submitted Niko Price on short notice (watch highlights) and obliterated Preston Parsons in just 73 seconds.
