Day 2 of the Dodgers 2026 MLB Draft started with several college pitchers selected. But besides the arms, the team also drafted Texas Tech outfielder Kyeler Thompson in the ninth round.

The 21-year-old hit .358/.454/.491 as a junior in 2026, with 20 extra-base hits and 26 stolen bases in 41 games. In two years at Texas Tech, Thompson stole 55 bases in 61 attempts.

Thompson was not ranked among the top 250 draft prospects by MLB Pipeline, nor was he among the top 500 prospects at Baseball America.

The 283rd overall pick comes with a recommended slot value of $201,700.
