Summary: I’ve seen it pronounced “Er-iks” I’ve also seen “Erics”. I’ve heard it said “Doherty” but I’ve seen it shown as “Dauh-er-tee”…can we just simplify this for everyone and call him “Dat Dude”. A big piece of what the Cards are hoping to put together on the offensive line, the BC transfer brings plenty of ACC experience. It’s like having your “cousin, ….from Bossstin” come spend the season with you.

The interior lineman is the penciled in starter at left guard, after playing over 600 snaps and starting ten games last season for the Eagles. Not only is he 6’4” and a three bills plus on a good day, he brings plenty of experience to the table, and will be an immediate contributor for a veteran heavy group up front. While “eligibility” is like monopoly money at this point, the good news on paper is that Eryx has a couple seasons left to play and will be a nice piece of this line for hopefully a couple more years. Plus, I don’t have the scientific data to back it up, but my gut is that any player that replaces letters in the traditional spelling of their name with an “X” or a “Z” is a certified stud. And that is a ‘CardinalZtrong’ guarantee.
