Lucas Moore, Louisville outfielder from Badin HS, drafted by Guardians

Louisville Cardinals outfielder Lucas Moore, a former Hamilton Badin High School standout, was selected by the Cleveland Guardians in the fifth round (155th overall) of the 2026 MLB Draft.

Moore played three seasons at Louisville, batting .316 with an OPS of .862 and 107 stolen bases.

He was named to the 2025 USA Collegiate National Team, and earned 2025 D1Baseball all-America second-team and all-ACC first-team honors.

A shortstop at Badin, Moore was a three-time all-state selection who hit .426 over three seasons with 27 doubles, 10 triples and 130 runs scored.

One pick before the Guardians selected Moore, the Cincinnati Reds selected shortstop Dylan Bowen from Indiana's Hanover Central High School.
