Union Minister V Somanna conducts Inspection of Tumakuru - Rayadurga New Railway Line Project Works

V. Somanna, Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, inspected the ongoing works on the Urukere–Koratagere (18 km) and Koratagere–Madakasira (56 km) sections of the Tumakuru–Rayadurga New Railway Line Project today. During the inspection, he reviewed the station works at Koratagere, Madhugiri, Hosakere and Bedatturu, and instructed railway officials to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe.

Speaking on the occasion, V. Somanna said that the Tumakuru–Rayadurga New Line Project is progressing well. He stated that the new railway line from Doddahalli to Pavagada has been completed and the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CCRS) inspection has also been successfully conducted. Train services from Rayadurga to Pavagada will commence shortly. He further said that the Tumakuru–Davangere New Line Project is also progressing expeditiously.

The 207 km Tumakuru–Rayadurga New Railway Line Project has achieved significant progress, with 110 km completed so far. This includes the 83 km stretch between Doddahalli and Rayadurga, which has already been commissioned in two phases. In addition, the 11 km section between Tumakuru and Urukere and the 16 km section between Doddahalli and Pavagada have been completed and statutory inspections have been conducted by the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety (CCRS).

Work on the 22 km Madakasira–Pavagada section is currently in progress. The Urukere–Koratagere section is targeted for completion by February 2028, while the Koratagere–Madhugiri–Madakasira section is scheduled for completion by May 2028.
