Preparations for the World Cup final have been complicated, both by thunderstorms and warnings issued over poor air quality following wildfires in Canada.
Just a few miles away in the Bronx, there has been a sporting postponement.
Yankees-Dodgers game postponed
On Saturday, it was confirmed that the Yankees-Dodgers game in the Bronx would be postponed because of inclement weather.
The game will be made up on Sunday July 19 – the same day as the World Cup final – as part of a double-header.

Reports suggest that FIFA have no concerns about the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina. The weather forecast in the New York area is looking good for the final, with only a 5% chance of rain given as of Saturday evening.
That is despite Spain seeing one of its final practice sessions in Whippany, New Jersey being cancelled due to US storm protocols.
World champions Argentina also saw their session on Wednesday postponed by 45 minutes at their base in Morristown, NJ.
Earlier this week, officials issued air quality warnings after smoke from Canadian wildfires impacted the northeastern part of the United States.
Further west in Chicago, Robert Lewandowski’s planned MLS debut for The Fire against Vancouver Whitecaps was postponed until October due to the ongoing situation.
