German influencer dies after head-on collision during her honeymoon

A German content creator reportedly died after she was involved in a head-on bike crash during her honeymoon in Italy.
Laura Viktoria Hartig, 30, succumbed to her injuries on July 12 after spending three weeks in hospital following her accident, PEOPLE reported.
Citing local newspapers, Trentino and il Dolomiti , the celebrity magazine said the outdoor enthusiast and Instagrammer suffered critical injuries on June 23 after her bike crashed head-on with a motorcycle on a state road near Sella Pass, in the Dolomites in northern Italy.
Hartig was travelling down the mountain pass, riding ahead of her husband, when her bike collided with a motorcycle driven by former Italian Olympic skier Peter Runggaldier as he was heading up the road, Trentino reported.
Hartig was thrown from her bike, landing on the asphalt, with the impact so severe that her bike split in two.
Runggaldier reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Hartig was resuscitated by first responders at the scene before she was airlifted to a local hospital, but died 19 days after she was transferred to a German hospital at the request of her family.
She married her ‘soulmate’ days before the crash
The blogger, who is known to her over 50,000 Instagram followers for posting about her adventures mostly about skiing and biking, had tied the knot days before the crash, Trentino reported.
Just two days before the tragic incident, Hartig had shared footage from her wedding, captioning the post, “Soulmate for life.”
Last week, her family posted a statement on her Instragram account, @alltimelaura, mourning her death, while thanking her followers for their support.
“Laura headed to her beloved mountains at sunset,” the statement read in German.
“Mountains where the sun always shines, the finest powder snow lies, the best routes await, and there is a hut stocked with all her favourite snacks.
“That is where she is now, waiting for us,” the statement continued.
“Thank you for your sympathy, your support, and your kind words. It is truly special that Laura was able to share her passion with so many people — both through this channel and beyond.
“Until we meet again on the next summit, Laura,” the statement ended.

Police investigating her death
Her death is being investigated by the Trento Prosecutor’s Office.
According to Trentino , Runggaldier was already under investigation in an unrelated traffic accident.
The 57-year-old skier who represented Italy in the 1994 and 1998 Winter Olympics addressed the incident in a post on Instagram last Tuesday.
In a statement written in Italian, Runggaldier asked his followers to “respect my moment of pain and my need for confidentiality.”
He added, “My thoughts go out to all the people involved and their families. I trust in your sensitivity and please understand that at this time I will not give any interviews or statements.”
